United States Advices Pakistan to Improve its Relations with its Neighbors


Washington- The United States State Department has advised Pakistan to endorse good relations with its neighboring countries, especially Afghanistan and India.

At the meeting of the State Department, the proposed budget of US involvement for 2015 and included a special provision called Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) which particularly work on the Pak-Afghan region and their relationship improvement.

 “The OCO resources will support critical US activities such as sustaining close cooperation with Pakistan, ensuring the safety of Pakistani nuclear installations, working with Pakistan to facilitate the peace process in Afghanistan, and promoting improved relations with India,” the statement said.

It was also mentioned that this amount will be separate from the a billion dollars allocated for Pakistan.

During the press conference, it was also made clear that U.S will carry on with its engagements regarding Pak-Afghan region with both Pakistan and Afghanistan whether a security pact is signed or not. Also US will also plan for the withdrawal from Afghanistan by the end of this year.
