Nepra Affirms KE Development


KARACHI: The K-Electric has declared that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has endorsed the 'Licensee Proposed Modification' (LPM) sent by the KE in regards to its coal transformation venture.

"This is the first such activity of its benevolent in Pakistan, where the organization is moving towards elective fuel. As stated by the LPM provision sent to Nepra by the KE, two units of BQPS 1 will be changed over from heating oil to coal," said the KE through a press proclamation issued on Friday. The force utility included that Bin Qasim Power Station-I units, three and four were of 210 megawatts every and the two might be rented out to a free power maker called K-Energy, which was framed by the task moguls.

"These task speculators will be attempted financing of over $350 million through which new boilers and Ancillaries will be built alongside coal taking care of gear. These will be synchronized with K-Electric's borrowed units," the expression included.

It is said that the EPC contract for this task has recently been executed with Harbin Electric worldwide, China, reverse in the month of November 2013."

“The LPM endorsement is the first real step which should be trailed by duty approbation from Nepra. The KE has faith in moving towards elective sources and practical era of power, where the end-shopper will pick up most extreme profits through a less luxurious tax," the clarification included.
