Approximately 300 people remain missing while the ship moving to 459 passengers turn over and sank off in South Korea Sea. The ship was mainly carrying school students, was touring from the port of Incheon to the southern resort island of Jeju.
The foremost rescue team effort is in under the way, involving dozens of helicopters and ships for the rescue and safety were taken to the nearby island.
3 people are died and at least 13 others have been injured. Earlier, the South Korean officials had said that almost 368 people had been plucked to safety, but afterward they said there had been a counting mistake.
Now they revised down the figure of rescued people to 164 as well as officials also revised down the figure of people on the ship from 476. In addition, the snaps showed that the ship listing at the cruel angle and then later entirely sunk under the water and only the small part of ship is visible. It sank within two hours after moving, reports said.
The images from the spot scene showed the rescue teams balanced on the sinking hull and pulling teenagers from the cabin windows. While, some of their colleagues jumped into the sea as the ship goes down.
Local media says some of those rescued were picked up by the nearby commercial boats. Moreover, the US Navy was also stated to be sending a ship to assist.
