UK’s Hague concerned amid no Departure of Russian Forces

Political News US

TBILISI: On Thursday, the British foreign minister William Hague stated that there was no indication of Russia is moving back its troops from the Ukrainian’s margin and advised pro-Russian activists in eastern Ukraine not to hold an intended autonomous referendum.

On Wednesday, the Vladimir Putin called on the activists to put off the vote, planned for Sunday, and publicized that he had pulled armed forces back from the borders.

"We haven't seen any proof of any Russian armed forces being called off from the regions where they have been deployed in recent weeks. They stay bulky, near the eastern margins of Ukraine," as he told a news meeting in Tbilisi, the ex-Soviet republic's capital.

Asked about Putin's call for the autonomy vote to be cancelled, Hague stated that he’d hope that those in Donetsk and in other regions who have been setting up the so-called referendums will take notice of those terms and will not initiate such referendums."

Moreover, Hague also made it clear that sanctions on Russia, further than those already imposed by the United States and the European Union, could still be initiated.
